Structure-property relationships are key for an in-depth understanding and development of modern materials utilized to solve grand challenges in today’s society like sustainable energy conversion and catalysis. The Center for Nanoanalysis and Electron Microscopy (CENEM) and the Institute of Micro- and Nanostructure Research (IMN) operate cutting-edge microscopes enabling a structural understanding down to the atomic scale and correlate it to material properties. For these research activities, which are embedded in Collaborative Research Centers (CRC 1452 & CRC 953) and a research training unit (GRK 1896), CENEM & IMN offer three PhD positions:

In situ Microscopy & Nanomechanics of Flexible Nanowire Electrodes

Advanced Electron Microscopy of Next Generation Solar Cells

Correlative Tomography and Advanced TEM of Novel Catalysts
